ADVOCATING AS A VOICE FOR BUSINESS.

GROWING JOBS AND OPPORTUNITIES.

That’s what the Delaware County Business Alliance is all about!

The success of your business is something we take very seriously. Every single day, we work to ensure a solid return on your membership investment. While some initiatives are carried out with or without your participation, many of the Alliance’s benefits come from you being an active and engaged member.

Membership doesn’t just benefit you--it benefits your employees and your community. The Alliance focuses on real issues and problems in our neighborhoods and we’re part of the team that makes Delaware County a better place. As the community champion and advocate for business, the Alliance leverages the talent and resources of our member businesses to improve economic opportunities for all.

We encourage you to be involved in our committees, attend events (both virtual and in-person), and call on the Alliance to make the most of your membership.  A return on your investment is at the forefront of all we do.  We look forward to working with you to create experiences that lead to your personal, professional, and community success.

OUR PRIORITIES
The Alliance’s Priorities for Action is our strategic plan as approved by the Alliance’s Board of Directors. This compilation of action items is the result of interviews and online forums, member surveys, and conversations with regional partners and stakeholders. Our Priorities for Action is a “road map” that keeps Alliance directors and staff focused on the economic and community needs of our region that are consistent with the mission and guiding principles of the Business Alliance.

ADVOCATE

Effective advocacy is founded on accurate and substantiated information. We remain a locus for facts and primary resources on issues important to business owners.
●     Engage Elected Officials. We will leverage our strong personal relationships with federal and state officials and government agencies to influence public policy, deliver funding to critical community services, raise awareness of economic and community needs,  and connect them to our network of resources.
●     Center for Reliable Information. Provide resources and contacts to members seeking assistance with municipal officials.
●     Unified Voice of Business. We continue to seek opportunities for input from businesses on public policy issues.
●     Creating Access for Members. We will host a Legislative Forum, featuring state and federal elected officials, to give members better access to information, personal contact, and direct discussion with officials.

CONNECT
We bring measurable value to Alliance members through high-quality core services, business promotion and recognition, and networking events.●     Member Services and Cost Saving Discounts. The Alliance offers many valuable benefits that may be extended to member employees, aiding in staff retention. We will seek ways to better communicate the available benefits to members.
●     Networking and Recognition Events. The Alliance hosts dozens of events during the year, including monthly breakfasts, business awards, golf tournament, and evening receptions.
●     Support Start-Up and Remote Business Owners. The Alliance, working with business partners, will host opportunities for micro-business owners to meet, work, and share strategies.  Our Co:Work Wednesday series may springboard to other learning topics and social events.
●     Encourage Young Professional Engagement. We will build on the initial support shown for the  efforts of our Emerging Leaders program participants to host gatherings that highlight education, mentoring, and social connections.

GROW

We leverage the knowledge of members, regional government, education, business, and non-profit stakeholders to address critical county needs.

●     Public Transportation. The Business Alliance will use the knowledge gained through its transportation planning process to be a resource to the County government and others seeking to develop public transportation options.
●     Leaderful Delaware Emerging Leaders Program. Preparing the next generation of civic leaders who can drive community change, our 2026 program concludes in June.
●     Intensive Business Training Program. As a collaboration amongst many local stakeholders, the Delaware County Business Alliance will offer some of the most focused and intensive training programs available in the region. The information and connections gained through our trainings will help prepare our members to keep up with an ever-changing economy and world.

The Delaware County Business Alliance believes that thriving communities begin with prosperous businesses. By taking action in key areas–advocate, connect, and grow-- we are a unified voice of business for the improvement of our communities.
