Hobart is large enough to be accomodating, but small enough to walk to every place for business, worship, eating, shopping, library, senior citizen center, and community center.
Scenic vistas abound during every season and well-groomed river walks along both sides of the Delaware River start at the Hobart park. The Catskill Scenic Trail also leads walkers to nearby communities of South Kortright and Stamford.
Hobart is the "Book Village of the Catskills" and home to Covidien, an industry leader in the production of pharmaceuticals.
